Chico’s Auto Collision Repair

Today’s small business spotlight goes to Chico’s Auto Collision Repair, an example of resilience in the face of adversity!
Six months after the COVID-19 pandemic began, Chico’s business building was lost in the Almeda wildfire that destroyed much of Talent and Phoenix, Oregon.
Because of the pandemic, business recovery was exceedingly difficult despite some assistance from local providers. With an insurance settlement still in limbo, the business was considering having to relocate permanently to an undesirable location.
Frustrations were high and accessing capital was the priority when Chico’s reached out to the SOU Small Business Development Center.
Following an initial advising session with the Center, Chico’s filed an EIDL application that was tentatively approved less than a day later.
Receiving those funds was a game-changer, allowing the business to cover operating costs and rebuild the previous facility.
Chico’s owner Juan Lopez said, “We are thrilled to be able to dream again! If you are needing assistance with your business, I highly recommend the SOU SBDC.”
