Kathy Nishimoto

How do your colleagues describe you?

Kathy is head strong, organized, and fast!

Why do you do what you do?

I enjoy helping clients in our class “Preparing for the CCB Exam”, succeed in passing their exams so that they can apply for their Construction Contractors Board (CCB) license. Many of our students have tried many times to pass this exam, and the class has made a big difference in their lives.

Bio:

I have been working for the Clackamas SBDC for more than 12 years. I was originally introduced to the SBDC when I had started a business with my friend. While starting the business I was hired as a part-time employee and from there I continued to work full time at the SBDC. I am no longer in business but found that working at the SBDC gave me a lot of satisfaction in helping other businesses succeed.

Yevette Johnson

How do your colleagues describe you?

Yevette is someone I can count on to have answers. She is supportive, friendly and dedicated.

Why do you do what you do?

I enjoy hearing the variety of people’s ideas and being a part of making their dreams come to fruition.

Bio:

Yevette was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. She came to Oregon to attend Oregon State University. After leaving college she worked in retail management for several years before joining the SBDC team as a data entry assistant in 1992. Yevette currently serves as Portland SBDC’s Program Specialist and lead Orientation Instructor.

Her 25+ years of experience makes her an obvious “go to” person for support throughout the Oregon SBDC Network. Her historical knowledge and familiarity of the systems give her an ability to predict the impact any new systems will have on both clients and support staff, and she is frequently tapped to provide support to staff throughout the network.
