Holistic Nutrition Builds a Business Plan with Chemeketa SBDC
As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re highlighting Mariela Fernandez, founder of Holistic Nutrition in Salem, Oregon. While growing up in Mexico, Mariela realized the importance of nutrition on our overall health, and she envisioned Holistic Nutrition as a way to impact the health of Latina women in Oregon.
After moving to the United States, Mariela was ready to open her own business, but she needed assistance understanding the business landscape and industry requirements. She contacted the Chemeketa SBDC, where she met with a business adviser for help building a business plan, understanding licensing criteria, and more.
“I recommend SBDC because it is an excellent place to start a business from scratch, with the guidance of business advisers,” Mariela said. “I believe having knowledge and a strong understanding of what it will take to launch and operate a business will increase the likelihood of its success.”
