How do your colleagues describe you?
“A people person who enjoys working with small business owners and making a positive contribution to society.”
Why do you do what you do?
“Working directly with business owners fulfills one of my goals in life: to make a difference. We exist in a global community, and while it may seem overwhelming, the one-to-one interaction with SBDC clients allows us to positively affect peoples’ lives. Advising is win-win communication; both parties have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams, and it is tremendously rewarding.”
Jack has worked with business owners his entire professional career. As an account representative for 3M Corp. and as an independent manufacturers’ representative, Jack assisted wholesale distribution businesses to increase market share and manage profits. Since 2006, Jack has applied these experiential skills to the SBDC by working directly with businesses, first as Director of the SOU Small Business Development Center, and continuing as an adviser. Jack’s areas of expertise include business start-ups, financial projections, marketing, sales, and strategic planning. Jack has a Masters in Management degree from Southern Oregon University.
