Sierra Trass

How do your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues would describe me as inquisitive, action-oriented, and a go-getter.

Why do you do what you do?

My mission in life is to make the world a better place than I found it, by helping people and communities flourish. I believe that if everyone does their part to uplift others, we’d have an amazing world. So, I’m doing my part. This is rooted in my faith and I try to live it out by volunteering, having a profession in community/business development, and showing acts of kindness as much as possible.

Bio:

Raised in Columbia County, Sierra graduated from Clatskanie High School with honors. 3 years later, she graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Business Management. For her small business experience, she had a humble beginning working as a shift manager at a local restaurant while in high school. Then, her interest grew in college, when she advised first-year entrepreneurial students on how to grow their ideas. However, supporting small businesses became her profession when she joined the Columbia Economic Team in her current role as Small Business Specialist. In this role, Sierra provides administrative support for the Columbia County SBDC and assists with business recruitment, tourism, and the Growing Rural Oregon (GRO) Greater St Helens efforts. Sierra also serves as the Director of Keep it Local Columbia County, a nonprofit that promotes local commerce.
